Boston, MA, May 15, 2006 ? Doubletree? Hotel Boston Downtown is the recipient of Boston Main Streets ?2005 Outstanding Business? award for providing extraordinary business in its Chinatown district. The Boston Main Streets program, created by Mayor Thomas M. Menino in 1995 and the first urban multi-district Main Streets program in the nation, provides funding and technical assistance to 19 neighborhood-based Main Streets districts throughout the City of Boston. The program each year selects one business in each neighborhood for this prestigious award, honoring their distinguished participation in their district.

The hotel continues its involvement with the ?Chinatown Clean Up? campaign and work with local schools via Doubletree?s ?Teaching Kids to Care? program. The hotel also offers complimentary meeting space when available to the Chinatown Safety Committee and Chinatown Trust. In addition, Newman serves as a member of the Board for such district organizations as Asian American Civic Association (AACA), the Wang YMCA, the Chinatown Safety Committee and, of course, Chinatown District?s Main Street program. He also served as co-chair of the AACA?s ?2006 Lunar New Year Gala.?
